Clayton Waco I Home Building Facility Celebrates Building 50,000th Home

WACO, Texas, October 30, 2020 – Clayton Home Building Group®, a leading builder of off-site and site-built homes, celebrates the completion of its 50,000th home at its Clayton Waco I home building facility. As a designated essential business, team members have continued to provide affordable housing to families.

The Waco I home building facility opened its doors in 1992 and the facility currently employs 244 team members. The facility builds an average of 8 homes a day for more than 100 retailer partners and communities in 5 states.

Waco I is one of 40 Clayton home building facilities across the country, including eight in Texas. As the demand for housing increases, off-site built homes offer an affordable option for more families and individuals. Every Clayton Built® home is constructed off-site, in a climate-controlled home building facility, using efficient and innovative building processes to help deliver quality, stylish, affordable homes for buyers.

Friday, the 50,000th home was on display and dedicated to Buddy Parish, a former team member and Retailer who sold homes in Abilene, Texas. Parish became a home consultant for Clayton in 1992. Parish’s family said his greatest joy came from helping others achieve their goals of homeownership.

The Waco I facility has received the President’s Cup Award six out of the last ten years, which is given to the number one overall performing Clayton home building facility – looking at customer experience, quality, safety and efficiency.
